Our Story

Leadership Development Should Start Earlier - and Grow With You

Lead Forward HQ grew from a simple belief. That leadership development shouldn’t begin when someone reaches the executive level. It should begin when they first become responsible for leading others.

Taking on your first team is one of the biggest transitions in a career. Suddenly, success is no longer about doing great work yourself. It depends on communicating clearly, setting expectations, giving feedback, building trust, creating accountability, and helping other people succeed.

And yet, it is a time of little to no support.

Our founder learned this first-hand. After being promoted into her first manager role, she had eight different bosses in four months. There was no consistent leader to learn from, no formal leadership development, and little support. It remains one of the hardest leadership transitions of her career.

And that experience isn’t unusual. Only 40% of U.S. HR professionals say their people managers receive regular training to advance their management skills.

So we set out to build a more accessible, practical, and holistic way to develop leaders.

Our approach is grounded in Learn → Practice → Apply because leadership is not built by consuming information alone. Leaders need opportunities to understand new ideas, practice important skills, try different approaches at work, and continue learning from what happens next.

We also intentionally built Lead Forward HQ to be flexible: buy what you need, when you need it. High-quality development should be within reach for people who genuinely want to become better leaders for their teams. For anyone with the curiosity to learn, the courage to practice, and the drive to apply what they learn.

So whether you’re stepping into your first people-management role, taking on broader leadership responsibilities, or building stronger leaders across an organization, Lead Forward HQ exists to make high-quality leadership development more accessible throughout the leadership journey.
